I first saw Dr. Alfonsi in 2001 to treat a recurrence of a debilitating lower back disc problem. When the injury first occurred it was serious enough that I ended up unable to work for several months and on workers compensation. When I re-injured my back working out, my chiropractor had relocated to Mill Valley and the people at my health club referred me to Dr. Alfonsi. I was very impressed with her ability to zero in on the problem immediately and explain it physiologically. Her training as a neurologist clearly made a significant difference in terms of the quality and effectiveness of the treatment she provided.

My condition required visits every other day at first. Once “fixed,” it was — and remains — only necessary to visit every six weeks or so for a “tune up.” At present, as long as I am careful when doing certain things I have a problem-free back.

She treats her clients' problems with several techniques in addition to adjustments. These include working with pressure points and massage. She provides good advice for keeping injuries under control. Her recommendations cover many areas: in my case, things to be careful about, simple exercises, what to do when working out, diet and supplements. She has excellent contacts in other areas such as yoga, pilates, and acupressure, and knows where to go to purchase health-related items of many kinds.

Not only does Elisabetta provide superb treatment, she is very personable. I always look forward to what I think of as a visit rather than an appointment or treatment. I would recommend her to anyone with musculoskeletal or neurological conditions which require attention.
